Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born March 26, 1991, is also known as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female to be signed by J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. Her debut EP Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 was released by Dreamville Records. It was at this point that she began to get the attention of her peers. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, came out on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music via the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. The singer continued uploading her songs online throughout 2014, including her self-released single Bound. In July of 2015, she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat it Out. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's reference. Later in the period, she released music that was circulating throughout Dreamville. The news was released on December 8th, that she'd signed with Dreamville Records. She was featured on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. In October 21, 2016, she dropped her debut EP titled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song, and performed on her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she appeared as a guest on two tracks with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas' Icarus. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on the 5th of September. In November, she released the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. On November 13 she debuted two more singles entitled No One or Pdigree. She performed with Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby in November 16and later released the song on her own single to accompany Her debut album. The track was accompanied by the release of a music video on February 20 2019 and was viewed by 3 million people on YouTube within its first seven days. In December 2018 she performed on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
